Chemia Biosciences spun out of Carnegie Mellon University, School of Computer Science. Chemia's platform is based on cutting-edge methods developed by Hosein Mohimani, PhD, and Bahar Behsaz, PhD. Cheima Bio's platform finds novel small molecules that can function as drug leads targeting drug-resistant and orphan diseases, and new crop protection molecules. Chemia's platform has already led to the discovery of multiple novel bioactive molecules.

Chemia Bio's proprietary platform combines AI-enabled genome mining with our one-of-a-kind metabolomics search engine for discovering novel small molecule drugs. Our cutting-edge methods can rapidly search through thousands of microbial organisms to discover novel small molecules undetectable by other methods. Using our proprietary genomics library and AI algorithms, we can predict the potential of the microbes for generating novel compounds with desirable properties and bioactivities. Our unique metabolomics search engine then can detect the molecules with novel chemistry and potentially novel modes of action against targets of interest.
